| 6,400 square foot air supported structure
for the largets NMR yet produced. The unique qualities of the
air-supported structure allow the magnet to function without
need to compensate for steel in the structure. The magnet weighs
24,000lb.s and is supported on a concrete foundation reinforced
with fiber mesh to avoid the use of stainless steel reinforcing. |
